
There is a huge emphasis on infrastructure in Africa, and other Asian countries. Nearly 1 Trillion USD is expected to be invested in urban infrastructure, in the next 20 years. And in these coming years, the industry needs good leaders who can understand the multidisciplinary challenges of the sector, and drive the nation into the future. To fulfil that pipeline, mid-career professionals in the industry need to be equipped with the necessary skills and competencies related to multiple disciplines: Strategic Planning, Finance, Economics, Law, Social and Environmental Issues, Public Policy, and other subjects.
Inputs and feedback from leading academicians and industry experts have been incorporated at the design stage, to enforce academic rigour and ensure that the programme is best suited to the needs of the Infrastructure industry. The Academic Advisory Council gives academic oversight to the programme, and the Industry Advisory Council plays a crucial role by being the industry-academic connect to the programme. Corrosion is a leading factor in the degradation of bridges. the corrosion control team, has more than 30,000 members, many of whom specialize in corrosion control in highway bridges. These members possess expertise in corrosion inspection and prevention, including protective coatings and cathodic protection.
